Wigan & Leigh College is undergoing a significant transformation with a £48.8 million redevelopment at its Parsons Walk campus. The project aims to create a modern, net-zero carbon campus to accommodate over 3,400 students daily. The new three-storey, 12,700 sq ft building will feature seminar rooms, IT suites, laboratories and student-run facilities such as a restaurant, florist and salon.
Sustainability is a key focus, with plans to achieve a 40% biodiversity net gain and incorporate photovoltaic solar panels to offset all energy used on-site.The phased construction approach ensures that the college remains fully operational throughout the redevelopment process.
