Creation of a special educational needs and disabilities school.
This ambitious project entails the creation of a new 4,470 m2 building tailored to accommodate 160 pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), spanning primary school age to year 13. The facility will boast a comprehensive array of amenities, including primary and secondary SEND classrooms, ICT classrooms, design and food technology workshops, science studios, hair and beauty training salons, and fitness rooms. Additionally, the design incorporates essential medical treatment rooms, therapy spaces, quiet calming areas and sensory rooms, ensuring a supportive environment for all students.
A key project objective is to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint for the new school block during core school hours. This goal will be realised through the integration of renewable energy sources, such as extensive photovoltaic panels and efficient air source heat pumps, exemplifying our dedication to environmental stewardship and energy efficiency.
