Deyes High School: A Net Zero Carbon Learning Environment Now Complete
Pupils are stepping into their fully completed, state-of-the-art school building as Deyes High School reaches completion.

It’s an exciting day for the pupils at Deyes High School in Maghull as they are finally stepping into their fully completed, award-winning school building. This project stands out not just for its striking design, but also for its performance as a Net Zero Carbon in operation facility.
Working alongside an exceptional team, including Pozzoni Architecture Limited and Kier Group, we’ve seen a fantastic design concept come to life. From feasibility through to completion, the collaboration and dedication of everyone involved have created a truly inspiring learning environment for the Maghull community.
The new building spans 10,000m² and boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including high-tech classrooms, specialist science laboratories, a learning resource centre, an art studio, and a multi-use games area. Designed to be Net Zero Carbon in operation, it features photovoltaic panels for solar power, hybrid natural ventilation units, and three air source heat pumps. The school grounds include large playing fields, sports pitches, a wildlife garden, a nature trail, and a habitat area to support learning and promote wellbeing for its 1,400 students.
